a very tiny bowl of same quinoa on the morn
A had oatios and beans, or rather, the floor had little cereal and beans
I am a woman who sweeps
after so many years of being slovenly, I now sweep SEVERAL times a day
hélas
lunch - quick, quick, it's 11 am and I am famished
leftover fried potatoes with comté melted on top
not bad
slightly comforting but not as comforting as a job offer
snack - that missing Mayan Gold chocolate - woofed it down while negotiating disciplinary strategies for ye olde adolescents
and a few dried cranberries but the Trader Joe's versions are a little to squashed - like they've been under a steamroller
for dinner A had large portion of mushy mac and cheese from the coop and promptly passed out in his stroller so I strolled a bit - tis lovely here of an autumn eve
then - moi - a lovely appetizer of salt -n- pepa Siskyou Crest goat cheese with brown rice crackers - more satisfying than salt and pepper potato chips and certainly more MORAL - but a bit spendy
et puis - local grass-fed cube steak fried in buttah, amen Julia C., then finished with a Dijon cream sauce along with local baked squash and more of the buttah baby
pre-dessert - Oregon-made strawberry kefir shared with a charming young fella who woke up enough to point out the stars and berries on the carton
then decadent baby went to bed and only moaned a bit mama dessert - macaroons drizzled with dark chocolate and a cup of mint tea
bonne nuit - sogni d'oro

October 1
the day begins with a small bowl of organic quinoa with maple syrup and half and half
little A has oat loopios
running home for lunch
a failed grilled cheese sandwich because I thought I still had correcting to do
so rather sweaty flaccid (but not melted) Comte in buttery toasted whole grain bread with a few slices of local tomato - then a very large Asian pear grown by my mother and a few almonds
dinner very late after yoga and some socializing
#(@%% have to find new daycare
single parenting gives no breaks, no outs
Baked organic potatoes, cubed and fried in olive oil with onion and good chile powder, two little tiny lamb chops from the night before raised by my parents' neighbor and still very rare inside, tender morsels with fatty bits, scrum, and a massive whopping portion of sauteed beet greens and Swiss chard
much later before a lonely bedtime in the living room (futon died)
the last little almond muffin that I made the other day from almonds that a kind visitor left here. She also left a large bag of candied ginger pieces but I really don't care for large amounts of candied ginger.
Somewhere during the day I seem to have misplaced my Maya Gold chocolate - surprisingly good - tastes like excellent Lebkuchen
